Discovered by the Last Stage of Delirium Research Group this buffer overflow vunerability affects most microsoft operating systems: NT4 Server and Workstation Windows 2000 Professional and server Windows XP home and Professional Windows 2003 Server
You need to get the security update applicable to your machine and you may as well ensure you have the other security patches available from Microsoft:
accept to install the updater software if its asks, then choose to scan for updates.
After this you will be asked if you want to see the updates available for your machine so click yes
Now, if you can see a load of red text then you have either:
Windows 2000 and need to install service pack 4 before you install the other updates or you have Windows XP and you need to install XP service Pack 1 (these are the only 2 OS I have run the updates on so there might be similar thingss for other operating systems)
So you will need to do this process twice. So go ahead and install the updates. If you have the red text message originally then you must make sure you repeat the process or you wont install the latest update
Dont repeat the process again or you will install other non-critical updates which are unecessary and may prevent your computer from working properly
